Zhicheng AI raises hundreds of millions of yuan for robotics and world models
Hangzhou-based Zhicheng AI has raised hundreds of millions of yuan to advance embodied AI research and commercialization. Hangzhou Capital, Fuzhe Technology, Caitong Capital and Linglan Capital jointly invested, according to Chinese technology outlet Zhidx. The report does not specify the exact amount or identify the funding round. Zhicheng previously announced a Series A round in June, also without disclosing its size.
The funding supports a company developing both robot hardware and a physical world model. Its XR1 is a wheeled industrial robot with two arms; the company also offers the TR6 humanoid. In May, Zhicheng open-sourced Chengling Physical World Model 0.1, which it says learns from visual and proprioceptive inputs to predict the consequences of actions demonstrated by robots. This combination places Zhicheng across two parts of the robotics market: industrial machines for defined tasks and models intended to help robots understand physical environments.
For investors and builders, the distinction between deployment stages matters. Zhidx reports that XR1 has entered a NIO factory production line and begun scenario testing for Volkswagen. It also reports a State Grid collaboration on an inspection robot. These examples indicate industrial engagement, but the report gives no revenue, deployment scale or independent performance results. Buyers assessing the technology will need evidence that the world model improves reliability in their own workflows.
