Value proposition
Eliminates the administrative 'paperwork' burden for dentists by using ambient AI to generate clinical notes and automate billing, potentially saving hours of manual entry per day and reducing practitioner burnout.
Products and solutions
["AI Clinical Note Assistant (Ambient listening and automated charting)","Automated Billing & Coding Engine","Referral & Documentation Management System","Practice Management Software (PMS) Integration Layer"]
Unique value
Unlike general medical AI scribes, Dentio is built specifically for the unique terminology and high-volume workflow of dental surgeries, founded by a team with direct proximity to the profession's pain points.
Target customer
Private dental clinics, dental service organizations (DSOs), and individual dental practitioners.
Industries served
["Healthcare","Dentistry","HealthTech","Artificial Intelligence"]
Technology advantage
Leverages proprietary fine-tuned models for dental-specific nomenclature and integrates directly into existing dental EHRs to provide a seamless 'invisible' administrative layer. Being the first Swedish startup backed by a16z's specialized healthcare fund provides a significant capital and networking moat.
How they differentiate
Utilizes 'ambient' AI that passively listens to dentist-patient interactions to generate clinical notes and billing codes, unlike traditional competitors that require active voice commands or manual data entry.
Main competitors
["Bola AI","Denti.AI","Adit"]
Key partnerships
["Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) - Lead Investor & Strategic Partner","SSE Business Lab (Stockholm School of Economics incubator)","KTH Innovation (Royal Institute of Technology)","Selected pilot dental clinics in the Nordic region"]
Notable customers
["Selected private dental clinics in the Nordic region","SSE Business Lab network"]
Major milestones
["Founded in 2024 by Stockholm School of Economics and KTH alumni","Accepted into the SSE Business Lab incubator","Secured $2.3M Pre-seed funding led by a16z in early 2025"]
Growth metrics
First Swedish startup to receive investment from a16z's specialized healthcare fund; currently in early commercialization/pilot phase.
Market positioning
Early-stage disruptor focusing on the 'administrative layer' of dentistry rather than clinical imaging/radiology.
Geographic focus
Nordics (Sweden) and North America
Patents and IP
No public patent filings disclosed; focus is on proprietary software architecture and fine-tuned AI models.
