Value proposition
An AI assistant that does tasks instead of answering questions. From inside the user's existing message thread it books flights, moves reservations, calls businesses and waits on hold, orders parts, and pays invoices. Every payment needs explicit user approval.
Products and solutions
Tab AI agent in Messages (iMessage / WhatsApp), in private beta with a waitlist. Capabilities: agentic web browsing on its own cloud computer, outbound phone calls, payments through a vaulted card, approved before spending, multimodal input (photos, PDFs, video), document and media generation, persistent memory. The company says a new product is coming soon.
Unique value
Trust-first agent. User data is never used to train AI, the card is held in a vault Tab itself cannot see, and nothing irreversible happens without the user's 'yes'. It lives in existing messaging apps, so there is no new app to learn.
Target customer
Consumers (US-first) who want a personal assistant for everyday tasks such as bookings, purchases, bills and phone calls
Industries served
Consumer AI / personal productivity, travel booking, e-commerce, personal finance and bill pay
Technology advantage
Each user gets a sandboxed agent with its own phone number, computer/browser and wallet, so it can finish tasks end to end, including calls and purchases, inside a messaging interface. The founding team combines ML engineering (ex-Snap) with venture and operating experience.
How they differentiate
Tab competes on trust and approvals rather than raw capability: no training on user data, vaulted payments, and explicit approval for irreversible actions. It works on both iMessage and WhatsApp and can take real-world actions, including phone calls and payments.
Main competitors
Poke (iMessage assistant), Instinct, Meta Muse
Major milestones
Early 2026: founders began building Tab. 2026-10-06: emerged from stealth at a $300M valuation, backed by SV Angel, Valar Ventures and American Spirit. Dealroom calls this a seed round, some outlets call it pre-seed. The product is operated by Terrasoft, Inc.
Growth metrics
Private beta behind a waitlist, growing mostly by word of mouth (co-founder Ammar Amdani, Oct 2026). Valued at $300M when it emerged from stealth.
Market positioning
Early-stage consumer AI agent entering a crowded messaging-native assistant market. Its $300M valuation is in line with Poke's reported valuation, but Tab is still in private beta. Instinct (reported $10B valuation) and Meta Muse are far larger rivals.
Geographic focus
United States (waitlist accepts international phone numbers)
